ITEM I. WINS

· College of Medicine match day went very well. MUSC had matches at great institutions.

· College of Dental Medicine – rural dentist program got more state funding

· Jim Fisher has actively engaged our Board Members to contact legislators on cigarette tax issues.

ITEM II. Updates

University Financials

  • Operating cash – 51 days
  • If state budget cuts hold for next FY it will be first time tuition dollars > state dollars

Hospital Financials

  • $192M gross charges for the month of March (record number)
  • Hospital operating at 16.2 days cash

UMA Financials

  • Work RVUs up 16%
  • Collections up 11%
  • Record charge month in March
  • CFC anticipated to break even by end of year

Public Relations

  • Catalyst 2M hits this month
  • Two new people, Tony Ciuffo from College of Charleston and Dawn Braswell

MUSC Foundation

  • Tom Anderson has to get affiliation agreement before Board of Trustees
  • Portfolio up 33% for prior 12 months
  • 149 recipients will receive endowment payouts
