Valerie
West , EdD Dr. West is Professor
and Associate Provost for Educational Programs at the Medical University
of South Carolina. She previously served as Associate Dean in the College
of Health Professions. Dr. West is involved in the teaching programs of
the University, currently serving as a faculty for the Dean’s Rural
Clerkship, the Interdisciplinary Rural Practicum (SCRIPT), and the Executive
Doctorate in Health Administration. She designed and taught many courses
and training programs in areas such as adult development, curriculum design,
team effectiveness, and organizational and community leadership. She received
recognition as a Governor’s Distinguished Professor in l991 and was
the College Teacher of the Year in 1990. She and her husband live in Hollywood,
SC, have four grown children and one grandchild. They enjoy golf, scuba
diving, reading and traveling. |
